    After facing a slump during the pandemic times, OOH advertising has swung back in 2022.
    The growth and development of programmatic digital out-of-home (Dooh) advertising in SA has been nothing short of remarkable. This was the view of UK-based William Brownsdon, MD of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Emea) for Hivestack, the first purpose-built, full stack programmatic digital out-of-home (Ooh) platform.
    Archaeologists claim that the earliest billboards were used during Egyptian times. One could say that flyposting was practised in Europe as early as the 15th-century mini billboards. Jared Bell placed the first billboard for a circus. This marked the beginning of OOH in modern times.
